Tracker configurations
Create reusable device settings and apply them to compatible hardware.
What is a configuration?
A configuration is a saved template of device settings. It describes how a tracker should behave—which features are switched on and what operational values it uses.
Configurations exist so you set those options once and apply them to many devices, instead of configuring each tracker by hand. A configuration is written for a particular tracker make and model, so it can only be applied to compatible hardware.
What configurations do
Configurations are reusable device-setting templates for your organisation. Create them under Fleet → Configurations, then apply them to matching trackers from Hardware.
Create a template
- Select New configuration and give the template a name that explains its purpose.
- Choose the compatible tracker make and model.
- Set the available device features and operational values.
- Save the template, then return to Hardware to assign it to trackers.
Edit safely
Open a configuration from the list to make changes. Before altering a template already in use, check which trackers rely on it and whether the new settings suit every installation.
Compatibility matters: device capabilities vary by model. Only apply a configuration to hardware it was designed to support.
Permissions
Configurations use the same hardware view and edit permissions as tracker management.
