Industry use case
Tracker + beacon asset tracking
Last-seen visibility for gear that does not need its own GPS unit.
Generators, ladders, mixers, and hire stock are expensive to tag with full trackers—and impractical to wire on every item. BLE beacons on the asset plus a Trakngo tracker as the reader give you proximity-based records: when each beacon was last seen, and which gateway reported it.
Challenges we often see
- High-value portable equipment moves between sites, bays, or crews with weak paper sign-out.
- Yard and warehouse managers cannot justify a dedicated GPS device on every ladder, generator, or tool batch.
- When something goes missing, CCTV exists but correlating footage to a specific asset is slow and manual.
How Trakngo helps
- Register each beacon to an asset record—generators, ladders, mixers, and more—in the same workspace as your vehicles.
- See last seen timestamps when a compatible tracker detects the beacon within range.
- Combine proximity history with CCTV or gate processes to narrow when equipment last entered or left a facility.
Two common deployments
Mobile sites & spread plant
Fit a beacon to each piece of gear, then rely on wired or OBD trackers already installed on utes, trucks, and service vehicles. As those units move between depots and job sites, they report which beacons were in range—giving supervisors a last-seen-on-job view without a formal sign-out book.
- Ideal when vehicles naturally pass equipment on site
- Suited to construction, civil, agriculture, and field services
Warehouse & facility yards
Mount a tracker at a fixed point—for example on a wall beside an entry or exit gate—instead of on every asset. Tag generators, ladders, and other stock with beacons. Trakngo records when each item was last seen in that reader's vicinity, which is especially useful alongside CCTV when you need to establish when equipment last left or entered the facility.
- Fixed gateway at gates, bays, or high-traffic choke points
- Suited to hire yards, workshops, depots, and logistics hubs
